Kids Korner
My daughter like me likes aquariums. So this year for the holiday's she was lucky enough to get a 24 gallon nano tank.
She also enjoys learning and teaching others about what she learns. So on occasion we'll post a kids korner article with the hopes you can share with your children to pass on your joy of the hobby.
Here's the first installment.
A month ago I received a 24 gallon aquarium. My dad and I put together the stand and set up the aquarium. We mixed salt and water and measured it using what I call a light thingy (refractometer). Then we went to the aquarium store and bought some live rock. We put it in the tank and then we had to wait for a month so it cycled like my dad told me it had to. We tested the water and looked at the colors on the test tubes and everything looked ok. It was time for a fish. We went the aquarium store and looked and looked and looked. Finally we decided on a black oscellaris clownfish. I named him "clownie". Here he is.
Stay tuned as my tank grows...
